Grand Opening of Rebranded Pauoa Branch

October 9, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union (Aloha Pacific FCU) celebrated the grand opening of its newly rebranded Pauoa branch on October 4, 2024, following the successful merger with Oahu Federal Credit Union. The branch, formerly the Oahu FCU location at 2219 Pauoa Road, has been rebranded as an Aloha Pacific FCU branch, reflecting the expanded services and increased accessibility available to members as a result of the merger, which was announced in July and finalized on October 1.

The grand opening event featured a traditional Hawaiian blessing and community celebrations, including a prize wheel with giveaways, a bake sale benefiting Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, and light refreshments throughout the day. Attendees had the chance to win exciting prizes, including a $500 Hawaiian Airlines Getaway, a flat-screen TV, and gift certificates to local businesses.

“This grand opening was a wonderful opportunity to welcome our newest members from Oahu FCU and the Pauoa community,” said Vince Otsuka, President and CEO of Aloha Pacific FCU. “This merger has allowed us to bring enhanced services and support to more members across Oahu. We are excited about the future and our continued commitment to meeting the evolving financial needs of our members.”

The merger has provided former Oahu FCU members with access to Aloha Pacific FCU’s extensive network, which includes 11 branches on Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Las Vegas, along with over 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide. Members also benefit from advanced technology services such as mobile check deposits, instant-issue debit cards, and enhanced online and mobile banking.

“We are incredibly proud of the legacy we’ve built at Oahu FCU, and this partnership with Aloha Pacific FCU only strengthens that foundation,” said Bart Saxton, General Manager of the former Oahu FCU. “Our members will now enjoy expanded access to financial services and cutting-edge technology while maintaining the personalized service they’ve always valued. It’s a win for everyone involved.”

“This rebranding and the expanded resources of Aloha Pacific FCU are creating exciting new opportunities for our credit union and its members,” Otsuka added. “We are committed to continuing our legacy of service and support for the communities we serve, and the success of the Pauoa branch grand opening is a testament to that dedication.”

The newly rebranded Pauoa branch will operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a full range of services, including personal banking, loans, and investment advice.
